Goal: Read and understand your first mini story in Hindi!

You’ll learn how to read a short Hindi story, understand simple words and sentences, and listen to correct pronunciation.

Warm-up (30 seconds): Pretend you’re reading a story to your best friend—give your silliest narrator voice!

Mission: Let’s practise reading and understanding a short Hindi story together.

Practice exercises:

  1. Read the story sentences out loud, trying your best Hindi accent.
  2. Match the Hindi words with their English meanings using the table above.
  3. Draw a picture of the boy, the dog, and the cat from the story.
  4. Write your own sentence using “किताब” (kitaab/book).
  5. Tell a friend or family member what “माँ खाना बनाती है” means in English.
